Sword Master Gertus of Brusk

Sword Master Gertus has been in the employ of Jgeorg Brust and family as a guard since he was 11-years old. His bold approach to combat made him stand out, earning him early praise from his superiors. Promoted from guard to sergeant at age 14 he assembled a premier squad in the service of the Brust family. When offered a position protecting an elite family member in the remote holdings known as Brust Valley he didn't hesitate to accept the honor.

The remote location was disappointing at first, but when he met his future wife, Kacee it turned into his dream assignment. The only thing missing was a family of his own. When Jgeorg and Terara Brust decided they were ready to birth an heir, Kacee and Gertus agreed to hold off on starting a family of their own until the heir, Tomas was of age.

Sword Master Gertus poured his heart and spirit into teaching the young Tomas Brust and eventually Tomas's adopted brother, Malo everything he knows about sword fighting, including his special technique involving the taboo practice of risk-taking. Both students have earned his respect and also appreciate his efforts. Malo is especially impressed with his ability to fight without the advantages of the gift.

When Lord Brust finds the people of the valley are in danger, from threats like a pack of ravtor’s, Sword Master Gertus and his personal guard are called to duty to protect the people who live in their valley.

Sword Master Gertus is an accomplished hunter as well as guardsmen and is equally prepared to face man or beast to protect the family and citizens that live in the valley that bears the name of Brusk. If he has one weakness it’s politics, he has no patience for braggards or liars and tends to dismiss anyone that talks too much.
