Hag Suzanna

Suzanna first appears in the short story titled Luscin, where she is only known as the Hag. There she appears without illusions to hide her true appearance, that of a withered 500-year-old cannibalistic monster.

Preying on runaway children puts the Hag in the path of 5-year-old Luscin. Having survived the encounter, the Hag orchestrates a second encounter in the pages of Embers Burn. There, an epic battle unfolds where the Hag’s demonstrates her mastery of dark energies and illusions. Only a Master of Sight and Sense could hope to match her formidable power.

Recruited and trained by Hag Greta, she hoped they would be together forever, but her mental weakness made her too dependent on her master’s presence to reach her potential. Separated, both achieve success in their respective roles.

The Hag’s territory is the city of Thuma on the shores of Lake Tansee, primarily hunting in the area of town known as Downwind, so named for the driving winds from the lake bathing the neighborhood in odors generated by a robust fishing industry.

Her recent failures have her working under the yoke of someone that should be a subordinate, it grates at her every fiber being forced to answer to someone weaker than her. Her tenuous sanity only holds on because she knows he is just a puppet for something much more powerful, something she aspires to become.

She’s been tasked with a rematch against her nemesis Luscin; succus will buy her freedom and elevation, failure will cost her life.
