Promoted from Capitano Fuoco, Renzo has had quite the character arc. When introduced in Monster Within, he’s a loyal member of the People Province of Vorg working as a Cohortes Urbanae*. His loyalty and amazing ability** to make snap decisions that always yield the best possible outcomes earns him an elevated status with access to senior party officials.

It’s not as glamorous as you’d think, he’s mostly just a trusted errand boy but when an elite family needs to protect one of their own by hiding her and the party needs to send an investigator to a distant and mysterious town, Renzo gets matched up with Edith Jones and sent on a mission for the party.

The two are sent to Murder Beach on the Northeast coast of South Cenoka. It’s underneath Murder Beach in the under-town where Renzo is exposed to the Church of Eternal Grace. The teachings of the book of prophecies coupled with the worldwide broadcast message of protection delivered by Malo make him an instant adherent of Eternal Grace.

Shedding himself of his old loyalties he becomes Missionary Fuoco and heads back to the PPoV to start an underground church. To do so he must reestablish himself in his old role as a polizia. Boldly gambling he expresses a newfound desire for the material life he experienced outside the PPoV and is willing to do whatever it takes to earn it. The gambit works and he’s promoted but at what price?

Now with access to perks only afforded the elite of PPoV, Renzo begins recruiting and building his Church while at the same time another investigator, Anchoring Cuauhtémoc has been dispatched to hunt down the agent provocateur spreading the illegal words of Eternal Grace.

It’s a battle of wits between Missionary Fuoco, a man that can accelerate his mind until the world stops against Investigator Cuauhtémoc an elite sleuth with perception and vision allowing him to spot near microscopic clues.

* Translates as City (Police) Force, with the word Police implied, not specified. Not to be confused with any biblical or historical references. I simply searched the internet for old roman police forces and liked the way it sounded.

** Quick-thought is an ability shared by many, but few can do it better than Renzo. The gifted individual consumes time and uses it to accelerate their own thoughts to inhuman levels. This is a key ability used by many of the gifted that fast travel, fly, or excel at combat.
